Marketing advice

Why is that one particular firm always getting on the list to quote. What have they got that you haven’t? Well we can’t be sure but there’s every chance they’re shouting about themselves more than you. Assuming you’re saying anything at all?

Look professional

Professionalism is key. Customers are looking for credibility. Present a quality logo on a properly designed business card, that has been well printed and you’re on your way. Add to that a professionally branded vehicle and you’re really starting to set out your stall. You’d be amazed how much a professional presentation matters to customers. You can never give too much reassurance.

Stand out

The buzz words are ‘brand awareness’. The power of a strong image cannot be underestimated. It can literally lift you from average to memorable. A good brand identity can raise your profile by stressing the difference between you and your competition.

Get out there

You have to get your name out and about which means employing marketing methods that will spread the word wide. A marketing plan would be ideal – think of the time of year when you should be promoting yourself the most and where you want to be seen. Allocate some money to it. That Yellow Pages ad just won’t be enough in these competitive times. You need to be everywhere! Think ads, flyers, website...

Show off

Word of mouth is a very cost-effective marketing tool! A satisfied customer is worth its weight in gold. They become a walking advertisement. Give them your business cards. Ask for a testimonial. Take photos of the project. Above all understand what they liked about you and play on the positive points in your marketing material.
