Where to send your story
Every newspaper and magazine contains details of its editors and journalists – so buy the publication and look up the names and numbers. Many newspapers have reporters’ e-mail addresses attached to stories. Find someone who has written a story similar to yours and contact them.
BBC Radio is constantly giving out e-mail addresses and phone numbers for programmes – contact them with your ideas for the next day’s programme. Invest some time in finding out who the media are – either at your local newsagents, library or online.
Remember most weekly newspapers publish on Thursday or Friday and need stories by Tuesday.
